Relief for Eye and Ear Discomfort
Eye and ear discomfort can be incredibly disruptive, whether it’s affecting your vision, your sleep, your balance, or simply your ability to focus and enjoy everyday life. If you’re experiencing symptoms such as red or irritated eyes, discharge, sensitivity to light, muffled hearing, ear pain, or a feeling of fullness in the ear, it could be a sign of a common but often uncomfortable condition—such as conjunctivitis, an ear infection, or a build-up of earwax.
When it comes to eye symptoms, there are several potential causes. Conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, is one of the most common conditions we see. It can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or allergens, and the treatment depends entirely on the underlying cause. That’s why accurate diagnosis is crucial. Our clinicians will carefully examine your eyes, looking for signs of infection, inflammation, or allergic reaction. Once we’ve identified the source of the issue, we can offer the right treatment—whether that’s lubricating eye drops for dry or irritated eyes, antibiotic drops for bacterial infections, or antihistamines for allergic conjunctivitis.
Our goal is to ease your symptoms quickly and effectively while preventing the condition from spreading—particularly important when it comes to contagious forms of conjunctivitis, which can easily pass between family members, classmates, or colleagues.
Ear problems can be equally uncomfortable and disruptive. Pain, pressure, hearing loss, and even dizziness are all signs that something may be wrong inside the ear canal. Ear infections are particularly common in children, but they can affect people of all ages. Infections may be caused by bacteria or viruses, or they might occur due to a blockage from excessive earwax.
During your visit, we will use an otoscope—a small, specialised instrument with a light—to look inside your ear canal. This helps us identify the root cause of your symptoms, whether that’s inflammation behind the eardrum (as seen in middle ear infections), fluid build-up, or wax impaction. Once a diagnosis is made, we can offer a personalised treatment plan. This may include:
- Antibiotic ear drops or oral antibiotics for bacterial infections
- Gentle ear irrigation to safely remove wax build-up
We’ll also offer advice on how to care for your ears and eyes going forward, including tips to prevent recurrent infections, reduce exposure to irritants, and maintain good hygiene practices.
Don’t wait for eye or ear problems to worsen before seeking help. Fast, expert treatment can relieve your discomfort, prevent complications, and protect your long-term vision and hearing. Whether it’s a simple irritation or a more serious infection, we’re ready to provide the care you need.
